Where The Wild Things Are – Arcade Fire
This has more to do with the movie than Arcade Fire, but I still love it and had to share it for its inspiring beauty and awesomeness.
There are certain songs that completely alter the dynamics and drama of a film trailer. It’s good to see that they’re using something other than Sigur Ros’ Hoppipolla to garner drama here. After Children of Men, Penelope, Planet Earth, and most recently Slumdog Millionaire, I think I might have to boycott the next trailer that uses it. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the song and am happy for our Icelandic friends for breaking the bank with it, it’s just been the go to dramatic piece for the past 4 years and I think it’s time to move on.
Enter “Where The Wild Things Are.”
If “Wake Up” does for Arcade Fire what Hoppipolla did for Sigur Ros, we’ll be hearing a lot more of it.
