PolyTune – Polyphonic Guitar Tuning From TC Electronic

TC Electronic has introduced a tuner they hope will become the new Boss TU-2. It’s so strange to give hype and attention to so primitive a pedal as a tuner; accolades are usually reserved for drives and delays… Nonetheless, this is pretty cool, and might just knock my age-old strobostomp off my board.
With all the activity around polyphonic DSP lately (Melodyne DNA, etc), you had to figure we’d see a polyphonic stompbox tuner in that mix sooner or later. My biggest hesitance would be whether or not it can track fast enough on all six strings to make it intuitive to use. From the reviews below, it seems like it does a fair job.
