Passion pit is a great, and somewhat quirky, electronic group from the east coast. The project actually started when singer Michael Angelakos decided to write a few songs to give his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day.

The Big Pink is an electro-rock duo from London that just put out their first full length album on 4AD records a few weeks back. I’ve been really digging it, sort of a hybrid of shoegaze rock with electronic undertones.

Amusement Parks on Fire is a UK band bringing back the shoegaze.

Check out the latest from New Orleans’ finest, a band only 5 or 6 years into their current project that has already garnered Grammy noms and completely defined a genre all their own.

Once again, Urban Outfitters has compiled a great mix of tracks for download on their site. This time, they’re funneling everything through iTunes, but the music selection is just as eclectic and fresh as ever.

Greg Kurstin’s production is brilliant, Inara’s vocals are spot on, and the future-retro music they’ve been cranking out for years is still unmatched by any other. And today, it’s only 99 cents!

Discovery is a side project from members of Vampire Weekend & Ra Ra Riot. I’m not the biggest fan of either of those two bands, but have really dug the programming in the new group.
