Michael Jackson Dies at 50

I seriously debated whether or not to write on this, as I didn’t want to add noise to the news or come off as another site trying “break the story first.” In spite of all of that, it must be mentioned, as we have lost a legend in the musical world. Few people have shaped the face of music, much less pop music, like MJ. He transcended the songs in such a way that he was the consummate entertainer, crafting one of the greatest albums of all times.

His off stage antics unfortunately grew to become a distracting part of his identity, but we’ll check that at the door as this is not the site for politics or social commentary, but simply music.

One of my first slow dances (the awkward arms-length jr. high waddle) was to You Are Not Alone… brings back so many memories. In the words of Dave Chappelle, “the dude made thriller… THRILLER…”

Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon at his Holmby Hills home and paramedics were unable to revive him. We’re told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.

A source tells us Jackson was dead when paramedics arrived. A cardiologist at UCLA tells TMZ Jackson died of cardiac arrest.

Once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but he was completely unresponsive.

We’re told one of the staff members at Jackson’s home called 911.

La Toya ran in the hospital sobbing after Jackson was pronounced dead.

Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince “Blanket” Michael Jackson II.

I had hoped to see MJ at least once in my life, but sadly will be left with only video archives of his work. Even those are inspirational in their own right, be it Captian Eo, Black or White (a must watch) or the dance that everybody knows.

Sharing is Caring!

Who else has been TWICE inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame? Once for Jackson 5, once as a solo act.

Worldwide album sales estimated at a whopping gazillion.

That's a lot of zeros. Prolific is the only word that comes to mind.
