Electro Harmonix Comes To Play In The Vocal Effects Game

We’ve all seen the TC Helicon VoiceTone vocal processing boxes by now. Well ElectroHarmonix has decided to jump in the game with the Voice Box.

At right around $200, it just might be the cheapest way to add vocoding and harmonies to your arsenal. You can create 2-4 part harmonies directly from your vocals, all keyed by whatever instrument you feed into the Voice Box with a standard 1/4″ unbalanced cable. You can’t even hire back up singers for that price, much less pay for the lessons needed to teach your guitar player to sing on pitch!

You can also add reverb independent from the dry feed, to send the harmonies a bit farther back in the mix than your lead vox.

The Voice Box also includes a gender bender for formant shifting your vocals.

A built-in mic pre with phantom power and a gain switch make this a quick and easy set up in a live environment.

Undoubtedly, people will begin to stack the Voice Box against the TC boxes that came out a year or so ago…
