We’re running out of graves for the few indie radio stations left, so it seemed about time for a check-in on big radio.

I snagged this video from Kyle Bylin. There are some very interesting points made in it, and a fair amount of animosity to boot.

Songwriters get paid every time one of their songs is played on the radio; the Performance Rights Act (H.R. 4789) would do the same for the musicians who played on the recording. With income from CDs and download sales on the wane, they could use the money.
Under current law, musicians get a big fat zero [...]

This is crazy. I was just listening to this station last night, thrilled that there was still independent radio somewhere.
