The Beatles Rock Band Trailer

I’m not huge on Rock Band… or maybe I should say I’m not GOOD at Rock Band. I never could coordinate my hands and eyes enough to hit the stupid buttons together at the right time. I’d rather just have a real guitar any day. I do think that what Rock Band has done for music is great. Because of Rock Band and Guitar Hero, a new generation has been introduced to some classic rock, and even been inspired to learn how to play real instruments. The two games have also held great swing in breaking the careers of new artists who manage to land their songs in the mix.

Well The Beatles Rock Band has been in the Hype Machine for some time now, with a scheduled and memorable release date of 09.09.09. As mentioned above, I’m thrilled at the prospect of a new generation coming to discover the most prolific rock band of all rock bands… in Rock Band…

This new trailer is an artistic, beautiful, and nostalgic look back at The Beatles’ career, directed by Pete Candleland (he did a lot of work with Gorillaz). It starts off as a pretty literal translation of their adventures, and then turns into an acid trip about 70% through… which I guess would be about on par for The Beatles’ career. Regardless of if you like giant bipedal blue elephants or not, the artistry is brilliant and the trailer is epic.
