If you’re a fan of acts like Sigur Ros, Devotchka, and Sufjan Stevens, be sure to check out Fanfarlo. Reservoir has been described as “The best English album we’ve heard in years” by Rough Trade, “Gorgeous pop baroque” by Mojo Review.
They’ve been on the rise with the help of some good words from their friends in Sigur Ros. Jonsi liked their album so much, recorded with Peter Katis, that he decided to cut his solo album with him.
Sigur Ros is actually named after Jonsi’s younger sister, and that’s her and her cousin on the cover of Reservoir.
Now through July 4th, you can pick up Reservoir for just a dollar on Fanfarlo’s site here.
If you want to check out their other albums, you can find them for less than $2 each on Amazon here.

What we want at wax&wires (other than to abuse alliteration): The goal is to make this a place where you can get updates on all things music. We’ll break things down into two categories to keep it simple: WAX: Wax is what records used to be made out of (before vinyl), so here you’ll find updates on recorded music. Band drama. Music industry news. Record label woes. New music you need to hear. WIRES: Music tech news. Tools and techniques to help you make better music. Gear reviews, user submitted song reviews, tips and tricks to make solid tracks and get your music out there. Please email me with any questions or ideas. I’d love some feedback. tim@waxandwires.com Inspiring and equipping YOU to MAKE BETTER MUSIC.

Just picked up the album for a $1 and am loving it. Sounds like the side of Beruit that I like. :)
