Wax Pick: MGMT – Time To Pretend EP

You’ll undoubtedly recognize some of the song’s from MGMT’s Time To Pretend EP. Brooklyn’s MGMT, formerly called “The Management” lit up the charts in 2008 with Oracular Spectacular. After gaining placement of the song in Gossip Girl, Shaun White Snow Boarding, Midnight Club Los Angeles, and several other shows and games; it’s safe to say that MGMT has arrived. Just last year, they toured with Radiohead, played at Austin City Limits, Coachella, SXSW, and even more big shows and festivals across the waters.

MGMT has a great synth-driven electronic sound, and some really great feel-good music that makes you yearn for the summer to roll around already. Check out their EP on Amazon today. Though a few years old, it has some great songs like Time To Pretend and Kids. It’s only $0.99 too, so you can’t really go wrong.
